Advent

Advent is a time of preparation. For most people, it involves a time of preparation for Christmas: buying presents, stocking up the larder, setting up calendars, candles, the Christmas tree and decorations. In the Church's life, the season of Advent focuses on the coming (latin adventus) of Jesus: His first coming into the world 2000 years ago, His coming to us through His gifts in our daily Christian lives, and also His second coming in glory "to judge the living and the dead" (Nicene Creed).

Christmas

We will celebrate the birth of Jesus in a series of services, beginning on the Sunday before Christmas with a family crib service. This service is particularly appropriate for families with children, as the children will play an active role in re-telling the birth of Jesus.
Children are encouraged to come dressed as shepherds or angels if they would like.

On Christmas Eve, we will have a traditional service of Nine Lessons and Carols. Come and sing some of the best-known Christmas carols and to hear the great news of God sending His Son to be the Saviour of the world.
